We taped 3 good shows in April:
618) 4/16/15 6:30 Gerry and Olga - Their shared belief in the power of music as a force for good in the world motivates them to expand their horizons and see where this musical road takes them. The unique way their voices blend brings a special quality to their music. They sing original music and they're always looking for songs with a positive message to share. www.GerryandOlga.com
619) 4/16/15 8:00 Alex Radus Trio – has toured the country extensively, recorded multiple albums, and won numerous awards and critical acclaim for his songwriting and performing. Prior to his solo career, Radus’ won critical acclaim with the Folk Noir duo, Duende, from 2000-2005. www.alexradus.com
620) 4/30/15 Amanda Duncan - draws from a diverse blend of the crooning hits of the 30′s and 40′s and the pop-country of today, to craft what has become her light-hearted, head-bopping acoustic sound. 180 degrees from the winey, suicidal droning of many singer-songwriters, in a black and white world, Amanda Duncan is a burst of color; www.AmandaDuncan.com
A 4th show was scheduled but the artist, Robinson Treacher, cancelled at about 5:00 PM the evening of the taping becasue he had to take his child on an emergency doctor visit. We will try to reschedule him.
Upcoming:
622) 5/14/15 6:30 Ken (the Rocket) Korb - wide-ranging repertoire, a wonderful harmonica player (including some very jazzy work on the chromatic), acquired the nickname “The Rocket” early on due to the “outer space” sounds he can make on the harmonica; also accompanies himself on mandolin. http://longislandharmonica.com/Ken_Korb.htm
623) 5/14/15 8:00 Bill Hall w/ Scott Nelson – charming barefooted Kerrville New Folk Songwriting Winner last visited the show August 1996 http://www.williamjhall.com
624) 6/22/15 Lea - authentic, uplifting, thought provoking and positive music. Her sound seamlessly blends gospel, jazz, country and R&B into her own style - SoulFolk - and draws comparisons to Tracy Chapman’s earthy folk, Joni Mitchell’s exquisite songcraft, and Ani DiFranco’s inventive guitar playing and dynamic delivery. www.thisislea.com
