Subject: Bookkeeper's Report
Greetings, Projectiles -
You may remember that I never produced a report in July, and see no reason to backtrack it now. However, if any of you have been collecting them, I'll be happy to send you a July report on request.
The problem last month was that for technical reasons related to the Constant Contact to PayPal interface, we don't have a good (foolproof) way to segregate online transactions. So I knew the data within the Special Concerts bucket was wrong (too much income allocated to Eric Schwartz, not enough to UkeFest), and we didn't really get it sorted out until last week. The August report, attached, is correct.
ASCAP/BMI payments are made quarterly, so they are not reflected in the August numbers. That will affect the final tallies for the performing venues. We have some $35,000 in the checking account (fat with Getaway and Special Concerts money) and $18,650 in the Money Market. I'll move $20,000 out from Checking to the Money Market later today, but the interest on the Money Market account is so low doesn't make much difference.
Another interesting development is what I believe to be the first ever use of the Other Income category. It contains UkeFest revenue earned at the event's Silent Auction, as well as contributions from the Vendors for their participation and meals. The large number under Miscellaneous Expenses for Special Concerts reflects performer travel and lodging. And you can see that in the first few weeks of our Concert Window experiment, we've earned about $186 in Virtual Admissions.
Finally, we have never re-established the monthly insurance allocations that we had in place last year, and since I'm not at the meetings I don't know if that was a decision or an oversight. Just wanted to mention it. Those bills come due in December.
Happy to answer questions, if you have any. I again encourage anyone who's interested in following the money in getting a QuickBooks report login so you can explore on your own. They're free.
Regards,
Chris
