Subject: Treasurer's Report (Addendum)
Greetings, folks -
Pay Pal was more cooperative this morning, so here's the usual departmental breakdown. Still waiting on final numbers for Getaway, so don't get too excited. It didn't really post a profit of over $36,000.
See you tomorrow,
Chris

Subject: Treasurer's Report Preview
Greetings, Projectiles -
I've done some of my month-end processing (bank reconciliation, basically) but PayPal is crashing when I try to generate the report I need for the sweep. It's come back three times with the unhelpful message "Report Failed, Retry?" so I'm giving it up for tonight. I may get another report out before the meeting, but maybe not. Depends on how things go tomorrow. (For Pam, I did make that edit regarding UkeFest Admissions and Dues from the April sweep.)
The abbreviated report is that as of 31 May we have more than $27,800 in checking, about $40,000 in the Money Market and $134,500 in Vanguard. The wolf is very far from the door. However, Getaway has not yet closed its books, and I don't know how much of that $27K in checking is owed to Stony Point and other Getaway expenses.
Other developments of note:
We are moving slowly forward on obtaining a credit card for Mike Agranoff, as a kind of pilot project. This is a secured credit card (which means it's more like a pre-paid debit card), and I've posted a transaction that moved $500 out of our checking account and into the card. The card and its associated details are somewhere in transit between Wells Fargo, our PO box and me. It may or may not arrive in time for the meeting. Fingers crossed.
As part of winding down my days as the Treasurer, I've been working on adding new background material at the wiki. You can see where that's going here. And if you look at this subpage, you can read the newest addition. I've always been a little hazy about the Vanguard account bookkeeping, and a question Mark raised last week made me feel it was time to remedy that situation. So this subpage lays out what happened, when and why, which I hope will be useful in the years ahead.
Gary has graciously expressed tentative interest in taking on one of my proposed Team Treasurer jobs, which I'm calling the e-Payments manager. This person would become the owner and master of the Folk Project's PayPal accounts, originally established by George Otto and for a time honchoed by Lori Falco as resident power user. If someone else did the e-Payments analysis, it would save the Treasurer an hour or more a month.
Stay tuned...
