For those of you who are paying attention, the print costs were significantly higher this month than July and August. That’s because Staples made an error on July and August and only charged us for making 200 booklets instead 350. I of course went back when I realized the error, and paid them an extra $93.60 for the two months.
You might ask “how did I not notice this for two months?” The answer is that July was the month I cut the quantity and I used Staples Rewards, which are attributed in a very convoluted way. They use a portion of the Staples Rewards for every item on the bill, on top of a calculation of our “Rewards” price for each item. The bill includes a separate line item for printing the cover page, the inside white pages, making the booklet, and adding mailing labels to 200 pieces. It’s very messy.
