Hello Folkies,
The Marc Berger house concert was wonderful from a musical standpoint, but quite disappointing in terms of attendance. 10 paid, only 3 of which were Folk Project people.
The Sycamore Slough String Band show is happening this coming Saturday night! If you don’t have your ticket yet, now’s the time!
Huge thank-yous to the publicity, web and communications teams for all of their help and hard work promoting our efforts!
Things are in place for Uke New Jersey Too! and I will have info to the web team to create the site by the end of this week. There has been an interesting development that I will discuss at the meeting.
The line up is:
Jim and Liz Beloff
Cathy Fink and Marcy Marxer
The Stringbusters (Pete and Maura Kennedy)
Stuart Fuchs
Honor Finnegan
Uncle Zac
MUF has given us the exact same pricing as last year (a very good thing) so we are probably looking at a similar overall budget.
We have our contracts for Jonathan Edwards and Lucy Kaplansky and will get that site up and running after the Uke fest is all set to go.
The Halloween show will be a joint venture between Special Concerts and Internal Affairs. Jimmy Durante (aka Grover) will be the feature with a 45 minute set/show and the rest of the evening will follow the same basic formula as the Valentines Show. Any and all profits from Halloween will be attributed to Internal Affairs. If successful, I would recommend that the Friday closest to Halloween be given to Internal Affairs going forward. That show, along with the Valentine’s show, should generate enough revenue to cover IA’s $1,000 annual budget.
Now that Pam has recovered from NERFA, she will be working on the Holiday Show benefit for MUF, set for Friday, December 19.
Thanks,
Scooter
