Hello fellow folkies. The May Evening of Music was held at the home of Steve and Christine Humphreys in Randolph. Steve and Christine had not been certain they would both be home for the event, but Jean Scully generously made herself available to play hostess in the Humphreys' home which worked out very well. I wasn't able to attend for the full night, but did stop in briefly to check things out and all seemed to be happy.
As I write my report, I bask in the warm fuzzy memory of our wonderful Getaway looking forward to the next jamming opportunity. And speaking of which ...
The June Evening of Music will be hosted by Mike Del Vecchio and yours truly at our favorite Italian eatery, Mario's in Randolph. There have been two successful Evenings of Music there and I anticipate a three-peat this time. Out of gratitude to the owner (who closes his dining room for us and does not charge rent for these events) I have made a point to encourage people not to bring outside food, but rather to purchase food from the menu as their pot luck offering. Salads, pizzas, sliced sub sandwiches, sliced stromboli, sliced pepperoni rolls and pitchers of soda are just the right size for such a purpose.
