Publicity/Web Report

Dear Board of Misdirectors,

The newspaper end of our committee's work is operating better than ever. They are remain amazing.

And speaking about amazing: The Web Subcommittee has been restaffed and newly invigorated. New goals have been set.

In our Phase 1 we will make the old site appear new and updated.

To this end:

Liz Pagan has designed a new home page for the old site.

John Lamb has done programming to make Liz's mockup operational when we're ready to launch Phase 1.

Cathy Thomas, with John Lamb's help, is writing html code to make all the other site pages visually compatible with Liz's newly designed home page.

Cathy's efforts will begin upon her return from vacation about a week from now. John is making progress on his tasks with Cathy, which include work on applying the Liz-designed new headers and footers to the approximately 100 pages on our legacy site.

Allan Kugel is developing a method for non-programmers to update our events on the web. Allan's work will be integrated into Cathy and Liz's pages so that the Project will not devote our limited programming muscle to merely updating monthly FP events. Event updates will be done by non-programmers on each individual committee. Our programmers will use their limited time to meet their enormous goals.

Rick Thomas will monitor our legacy FP server. He will eventually oversee a transfer to a new server that has modern capabilities that our old server does not offer.

Lori Falco and Chris Reimer have been instrumental in creating our goals and executing related tasks.

After we launch Phase 1, re-skinning present site, in Phase 2 we will create a totally new FP site from the ground up. We will use much of the work and knowledge we've learned in Phase 1. Phase 2 will make use of newer technology, the new server. and MAY make use of some freeware Rick has found specifically designed for running a vast folk organization like ours.

I want to thank this subcommittee for their talent and dedication, and for the reduction in my excess stomach acid.

Truly verily yours,

Mark
