Subject: July EH report
Dear Boardoise:
I’m happy to report that Event Hosting continues to make the proverbial chicken salad out of chicken poop.
The Monday song circle shows no signs of slacking off. Our usual attendance is holding steady at approximately 15 participants, with several more lurking and clearly enjoying the music and the fellowship. It seems meaningful that three working professionals are regulars, i.e., that they’re comfortable with the level of the music and the appreciation they receive. And it’s gratifying that we have Projectiles logging in from New Mexico, Washington, Pennsylvania and upstate New York.
Although the number of participants is close to optimal – people are able to play three or four songs per evening – it would be nice to see some new faces. Yes, that is a hint.
Good news also on the July 4 picnic. The Morris Park System has graciously allowed us to reserve the park for next year and will apply this year’s fee to it. So, we didn’t lose our payment because of the cancellation, and we’re set for next year. Many thanks to Paul, Mark and Chris for their input.
Submitted in the Spirit of the project,
Jay Wilensky, Event Hosting chair.
PS: I heard the ad for Stayaway on this morning’s Brian Lehrer show. Bullseye!
