Subject: Next VCAC Meeting
Hello All,
We'll be meeting tonight at 7:30 at Chris's home in Morristown. This'll be our second Venue Chair Autonomy Committee meeting, and I'm hoping to build on our discussions from the first meeting and move from the general more into some specific issues where our topic of Venue Chair autonomy plays out. Some of these ares's might include:
Our (now) annual Holiday Concert, which takes place in December, and held at MUF. Should the choice of beneficiary for this concert be a Board issue or the Venue Chair choice?
Pricing at our weekly Minstrel Acoustic Concert Series. Should the door price here be a Board issue, or strictly the decision of the Venue Chair?
The above two issues only scratch the surface of the many places of disagreement between different Board members on the most productive relationship between our Venue Chairs and the Board itself. While it isn't realistic to think this Committee will solve all these individual topics, starting an open, active, ongoing conversation will be a healthy step in that direction.
Please come to our meeting tonight with one additional Venue Chair/Board balance topic that you'd like to discuss with the group.
