2018 Special Concerts Year End Report (Concerts, House Concerts, NJUF, Workshops)
I think the Special Concerts Division of The Folk Project did really well in 2018. SC produced 7 house concerts, 1 workshop the NJUF workshops, and 4 big concerts (including the NJUF concerts) so far, there are 2 more large concerts scheduled to take place later this month. (I could still use volunteers for each of the events, please see me privately.)
The New Jersey Uke Fest did very well in 2018. Attendees were happy with the event. Proceeds from the Silent Auction helped the event make a nice profit. New this year, we had 2 companies offer consign items for sale to the FP merch table. With the approval of the FP BOD, the NJUF was able to offer a discounted Folk Project membership ($10 off) to any first time member. Fifthteen folks took advantage of this offer. The discount was subsidized by funds from our Grant with the Morris Arts.
New in 2018 has been the Jammin’ with… house concert series put forth by creative genius of Mark Schaffer. Five events took place over the course of the year. These day long events are concerts, open mics and jam parties all rolled into one event. They have all been a great success.
For 2018, of the 13 events that have been completed, we have averaged 106.5 (total) attendees at each event. This number is up from the 2017 average of 101.2 (total) attendees at the 10 events produced.
According to QuikBooks, for the calendar year 2018, Special Concerts (including NJUF) currently has a Net Income of $3,260.
