Webmaster Report – John Lamb

January has been a busy month for the web team. First of all, we would like to welcome our newest member Barbara Moo, who will initially be helping out with carousel updates while learning her way around the site. Lori has kindly offered to show her the ropes. Charles has made several updates to the Getaway page. Allan has started planning for the impending forced upgrade to PHP 5.3, has looked into ideas for decreasing the recent spam that has been arriving via form-based email, and has provided support for the Minstrel Calendar tool. In addition, we have provided support for the Minstrel tally sheet, provided the board with a list of email forwarders and where they go, updated the performers page with assistance from Pat Brangs, and explained some of the possibilities for creating a special page for the Minstrel 40th Anniversary Concert. We have brought certain occasionally recurring email problems to the attention of DreamHost Tech Support but these issues are hard to pinpoint as they occur only sporadically. As always, many thanks to the web team of Allan, Barbara, Charles, and Lori. Please address questions, suggestions and comments to webmaster@folkproject.org.

Facebook Report – Pam Robinson

The Folk Project's FB page is humming along nicely with over 1,111 Fans.

I have recently created a new identity called Tern Folkproject on FB (for more info on this identity please contact me offline). From this identity I have created a Group called The Minstrel an Acoustic Concert Series.

So far I have created Events for the next 2 upcoming Minstrels. As soon as I get a few more members in the group, currently I have 9, I will create more Events for upcoming shows.

If you are on FaceBook, please join the Group and also help spread the word about the Group so that we can get it up and running faster. (see me, offline for more info on the Group) .

Report From “The Chair” – Paul Fisher

The committee continues to function smoothly, getting out releases as needed.

Pam's Facebook work is soldifying (see her report above). We hope she will clarify how it will work when we speak offline.

We are considering the options of taking adds with Fun New Jersey and The Morris County Tourism Bureau (the latter we have done for at least two years). We have been asked to consider taking a membership in njskylands.com, which often posts our events.

There was a hiccup with respect to the price of the Valentine's Day Extravaganza. It would have been better had this been shared sooner and with more emphasis.

Online

· The Minstrel continues to be frequently listed among the Top Ten Monthly Events by the Morris County Tourism Bureau.

· All of our events were posted to the northjersey.com calendar.

· Jay Lustig has left the Star Ledger and begun a new web presence, NJARTS.net. We are listed.

· MorristownGreen posted the Vance Gilbert concert. The Valentine's Day show is listed there, as are the other Minstrel events.

· In Print

· Listings were seen in a number of local outlets.
