Archives Committee Report – April 2021
Documenting our Place in NJ History
Surprise Addition to our Archives!
Just this morning, I picked up one of our long lost photo albums in New Brunswick. It had been saved from a landfill around 4 years ago by a man who used to work for a junk removal company. The distinctive red binder covers the years 1988 – 1993 and is in great condition. Our benefactor thought the photos might have sentimental value, so he looked up our website, found the former home page, then the admin page, and then my Archives Chair link….and sent me a message. Wow! I thanked him profusely and will send him a thank you card.
Which leads to my next plea: if anyone is thinking of moving or downsizing, PLEASE don't toss your FP memorabilia or leave it for family members who may not understand its significance! Call or email me (or whoever a future chair might be) and offer it to the official archives. Tell your friends, too. I plan to write an article about this for the next newsletter.
Past FP Officers and Trustees
I'm still compiling the list and I NEED YOUR HELP. There's a gap between the years of 1986 through 2005. Do you have newsletters from those years? If so, please contact me so I can copy the needed info.
Thank you!
