MINSTREL BOOKING

A relatively ho-hum month at the Minstrel. Our average paid attendance for the month was a lackluster 78.3. This was both the "regular show" and "all show" figure, as our only non-regular show (one with no paid performers) was not only a non-Minstrel event -- Valentines Day Extravaganza -- but was snowed out. (The VDX will be rescheduled to a special Sunday Non-Minstrel on April 14.) We were $6 in the red for February, and $1383 in the black for the past 12 months..

John Lamb, with input from me, has created a slightly revised tally sheet to incorporate two rarely occurring circumstances at the Minstrel: (1), A show where the performer has been paid a deposit in advance of the night of performance, and (2) A show with a negative cash flow -- That is, a show where the bank deposit comes out to be a negative number. That means that something had to be fudged in order to pay the performers or reimburse expenses for kitchen purchases. We will undergo some trials on the new sheet to evaluate its accuracy and ease of understanding.

As a hedge against having the Valentines Day Show snowed out again, Lori Falco proposed, and Mark and I agreed that in future, the Valentines Show would be moved up one week to the First Friday in February, and a regular Open Stage scheduled for the 2nd Friday. That way, if VDX gets snowed out, we would move it to the following week, preempting the Open Stage. That will commence in 2015, because first Friday of 2014 is already booked.

New bookings since last month

· July 5: Falcon Ridge Most Wanted Tour, featuring Gathering Time, The YaYas, and Honor Finnegan.

· October 18: Buskin & Batteau with the Copper Ponies opening

· Cindy Mangsen & Steve Gillette have been rescheduled to Feb 7, 2014 from their original November date.

March looks to be very strong with Butch Ross,on the 1st, Pat Donohue on the 8th, and Silk City on the 22nd. I would STRONGLY recommend checking out Butch Ross coming up this Friday as a highly entertaining unknown.
