The Jack Williams workshop, which was held on May 16th, another dark and stormy Folk Project night (there was a tornado watch in nearby counties). The workshop had enough reservations to be considered sold out, however due to the potential for bad weather we had several cancellations. Twelve attendees did make the workshop, we did meet our guarantee and even made a small profit ($20) when all the expenses were added in.
The workshop was so engrossing that it ran over by 1 1/2 hours. Several attendees indicated that they got a bunch of good pointers from Jack to help them improve their music.
The Special Concerts Committee is working on three additional events for the balance of 2007:
The first is a house concert in October featuring a Storyteller.
The second event is another workshop of some type, probably in November.
The third is an Irish Christmas concert sometime in December.
