Subject: HSNOI Report
The HSNOI Best of the Blues Compilation DVD is now available for sale by mail (See details at HSNOI.blogspot.com) or at The Minstrel for $20.
I have begun the long-term project of archiving over 550 shows onto high quality DVD-Rs, creating one copy to be deposited at the Rutgers Special Collections, Alexander Library in New Brunswick and a 2nd copy to be stored somewhere TBD other than my home office. On the advice of professional archivists, these are being made in addition to the original DVD-R archive already stored in my home office, most of which were burned on the Panasonic DMR-HS2 purchased in 2002 before they had really perfected the home burner technology. Those discs and any duplicated from them have some playback problems on other brands of machines, but usually will playback fine on a Panasonic player. So I am burning the first one in real time on our relatively new Toshiba burner and duplicating the 2nd one from the first. I already found one disc in the original archive (A6) that wouldn't play all the way through on our Panasonic player, but I was able to dub it from the original 3/4" U-Matic tape recorded in 1989.
We recorded two fine shows in July:
