This Easy Garlic Butter Chicken is a flavorful and comforting dish that's quick to prepare. Juicy chicken breasts are cooked in a rich garlic butter sauce, making it a perfect choice for busy weeknights or a satisfying weekend meal.
Full Recipe:
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 tablespoons olive oil
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
5 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning (or mixed herbs)
½ cup chicken broth
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Lemon wedges (optional, for serving)
Season the Chicken: Generously season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
Cook the Chicken: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned chicken breasts and cook for about 5–6 minutes on each side, until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
Prepare the Garlic Butter Sauce: In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant.
Add Seasonings and Broth: Stir in the Italian seasoning and chicken broth. Let the sauce simmer for 3–4 minutes to reduce slightly.
Combine Chicken and Sauce: Return the cooked chicken breasts to the skillet. Spoon the garlic butter sauce over the chicken and cook for an additional 1–2 minutes to heat through.
Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle chopped parsley over the chicken and serve with lemon wedges on the side, if desired.
