1 pound salmon fillets
1 tablespoon butter (or olive oil)
1/2 cup fresh orange juice (from approximately 1 orange)
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 teaspoon water (optional, for a thicker glaze)
Prep the Ingredients:
Mince the garlic
Juice the orange.
If desired, slice the orange for garnish.
Cook the Salmon:
Heat the butter or olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper.
Place the salmon in the skillet, skin side up.
Cook for 3–5 minutes until golden brown.
Flip the salmon and cook for an additional 3–4 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
Remove the salmon from the skillet and tent with foil to keep warm.
Prepare the Orange Glaze:
In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium.
Whisk together the orange juice, honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and cornstarch slurry (if using).
Cook the mixture, stirring constantly, until it becomes hot and thickens slightly, about 30–60 seconds.
Combine and Serve:
Return the salmon to the skillet, skin side down.
Spoon the glaze over the salmon to coat.
If desired, add orange slices to the skillet for added flavor and garnish.
Serve immediately, spooning extra glaze over the top.
