Morton's Steakhouse Chicken Christopher is a beloved dish known for its tender, breaded chicken breasts topped with a rich, creamy garlic butter sauce. This indulgent recipe brings the flavors of the renowned steakhouse into your home kitchen, perfect for a special dinner or a comforting meal.
For the Chicken:
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch)
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
3 tablespoons olive oil
For the Garlic Butter Sauce:
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
3 garlic cloves, minced
½ cup chicken broth
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 tablespoons heavy cream
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
Prepare the Chicken:
Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
Set up a breading station with three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs.
Dredge each chicken breast in flour, dip into the egg mixture, and coat with breadcrumbs.
Cook the Chicken:
In a large skillet, heat 3 tablespoons of butter and 3 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.
Once the butter is melted and sizzling, add the breaded chicken breasts.
Cook for 4–5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and fully cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 74°C).
Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside on a plate.
Make the Garlic Butter Sauce:
In the same skillet, melt 4 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.
Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes, or until fragrant.
Stir in the chicken broth and lemon juice, allowing the mixture to simmer for 2–3 minutes.
Add the heavy cream and cook for an additional 2–3 minutes, or until the sauce thickens slightly.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Assemble and Serve:
Place the cooked chicken breasts on a serving platter.
Spoon the garlic butter sauce over the top of each chicken breast.
Garnish with chopped fresh parsley.
Serve immediately, ideally with a side of pasta, mashed potatoes, or steamed vegetables.
