Full Recipe:
For the Churro Bites:
1 cup (240 ml) water
1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter
1 tablespoon (15 g) granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon (1.25 ml) salt
1 cup (120 g) all purpose flour
4 large eggs
For the Cinnamon Sugar Coating:
1/2 cup (100 g) granulated sugar
1 tablespoon (15 ml) ground cinnamon
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Prepare the Dough:
In a medium saucepan, combine the water, butter, granulated sugar, and salt.
Heat over medium heat until the butter is melted and the mixture comes to a boil.
Remove from heat and stir in the all-purpose flour until the mixture forms a smooth dough.
Incorporate the Eggs:
Allow the dough to cool for about 5 minutes.
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the dough is smooth and glossy.
Pipe the Dough:
Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a large round tip.
Pipe 1-inch long churro bites onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 1 inch apart.
Bake the Churro Bites:
Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes, or until the churro bites are golden brown and puffed up.
Prepare the Cinnamon Sugar Coating:
While the churro bites are baking, mix the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon in a shallow bowl.
Coat the Churro Bites:
Once the churro bites are done baking, remove them from the oven and let them cool for about 3–5 minutes.
While still warm, roll each churro bite in the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated.
Serve:
Serve the churro bites warm. They can be enjoyed on their own or with a dipping sauce like warm chocolate or caramel.
