OOM-9, a male programming combat droid, was in charge of the Trade Federation's droid army when it invaded Naboo in 32 BBY. After Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and his trainee returned from Coruscant, he was sent to exterminate the Gungans. OOM-9 served as the main point of communication for Nute Gunray and Rune Haako, leaders of the Trade Federation, and he oversaw the conflict from his own Armored Assault Tank. The Droid Control Ship over Naboo was destroyed by Anakin Skywalker, momentarily deactivating OOM-9, but the Federation's triumph was fleeting.

History/Background Body Paragraph: 

The leader of the Trade Federation's personal droid army was OOM-9, a B1-series combat droid made by Baktoid Combat Automata. The unit was the most productive and acted as the main point of contact for Federation Viceroy Nute Gunray and other leaders of the group's own armed forces. OOM-9 took part in the blockade of Naboo by the Federation in 32 BBY in opposition to the Galactic Republic's enactment of Prop 31-814D. The Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Sidious was contacted by Viceroy Gunray once the embargo was lifted, and he instructed the Neimoidian to send his droid forces to the surface under the direction of OOM-9. Following their following attacks, OOM-9 started gathering information regarding purported underwater cities inhabited by the planet's native Gungan inhabitants. In response to her futile requests for help from the Republic Senate on Coruscant, Amidala left the Mid Rim country and headed back, but OOM-9 found her in the Naboo swamps.

Battle droid OOM-9, who stood 1.91 meters tall, served as the commander of the Trade Federation Droid Army. Assigned tasks by his commanders, Nute Gunray and Rune Haako, he was programmed to oversee the Federation's droid soldiers during the Invasion of Naboo. OOM-9 was configured to operate within his customized Armored Assault Tank Mk I and has two black sensors and bone-white armour. Additionally, he has two antennae on his back for communication with Gunray and Haako as well as electrobinoculars for long-distance observation.
