Mitth Family

General Information Body Paragraph:

The Mitth Family is one of the nine ruling families of the Chiss species. One of its most infamous members is most certainly the Grand Admiral Thrawn, who served the Galactic Empire during the Civil War. Its emblem resembles a star with seven spikes, like how some of us might draw the sun, which is also encircled. The family also possesses its own fleet, which is considered part of the Chiss Ascendancy’s military.

History/Background Body Paragraph:

The family’s home planet, like most other Chiss, was the world of Csilla. It is the capital of the Ascendancy and also the homeworld of the Chiss species. The Mitth Family was in fact not a ruling family until after the so-called Final Assault on Csilla, where four members of the family would sacrifice themselves to fire a weapon at the enemy fleet, knowing it would be suicide. For this most heroic action, they were granted a higher status within the hierarchy of the Chiss, transforming into the eighth ruling family. Future sons and daughters would receive the letters “odo” at the end of their names to show their newly obtained noble status. As the weapon required to be fired at a star to then fire a beam back at the foes, the official family crest became somewhat resembling of a flaring sun. 

Some may not know this, but Thrawn’s Chiss name hadn’t always been Mitth’raw’nuruodo. In fact, he was adopted into the Mitth family and then granted that honourable name. Before that, he was known as Kivu’raw’nuru. His adoption into the Mitths was even a direct request made by the Patriarch at that time, Mitth’oor’akiord. The patriarch of the family saw promising futures in many great Chiss, who he would adopt into his own house.

After the unfortunate death of the great leader of the Mitths, a most unlikely candidate was chosen as the new Mitth Patriarch. It was Chiss Thurfian, who was chosen by Patriels and the Speaker. Why he was the unlikely successor, was because he had never really wanted it. Still, he was thrilled to take over responsibility over the Chiss House.

Additional Information Body Paragraph: The true history of the family was kept strictly secret, even from some of its own members. Only the most high-ranking would be worthy of such knowledge. The past of the great house included a devastating weapon as mentioned before, called the “Starflash”. It functioned by shooting a ginormous energy beam at a star. The star would shoot the blast out again, but far more powerful. It was destroyed during the Final Assault on Csilla but a replica was found thousands of years later by the Stybla family. It would simply be referred to as “The Item” and nothing more.
