It was inhabited by the Witches of Dathomir, Force-sensitive Humans, and their malevolent counterparts, the Nightsisters. It was also home to the fearsome rancors. Throughout galactic history, Dathomir has been the site of innumerable conflicts.

History/Background Body Paragraph: The six-armed Fromprath species once inhabited Dathomir hundreds of years before the year 3 BBY, but they were driven off by the Nightsisters, a secretive race who kept dark secrets, and were banished from the planet. As a result of the Fromprath's exploitation of the planet's natural riches, the Nightsisters joined forces with rancors to expel the colonists.

Additional Information Body Paragraph: On Dathomir, the dark side of the Force was very strong, which encouraged the growth of many evil Force users who were native to the planet. The Nightsisters, also referred to as the Dathomir witches, were swamp dwellers who possessed magical weapons that were fueled by Dathomir's own energy.
