 A cantina is the equivalent of a pub, bar, or saloon. It's a place where bounty hunters, smugglers, raiders, explorers, citizens, residents, and species from across the galaxy come together. Some, such as the Mandalorians, may be there to discuss bounty contracts with their employers, while others may simply want a refreshing beverage on the scorching hot surface of Tatooine.  Cantinas also serve as a place for entertainment, with playing cards being a common activity while waiting for your beverage.

History/Background Body Paragraph:  

 The sole purpose and reason for their origination was to provide catering, but they quickly became a hub for criminals and other species. By the time of the Empire, cantinas like Mos Eisley had developed a bad reputation for their unwelcoming atmosphere, shadowy guests, and lack of attention from staff and patrons alike. On a positive note, cantinas also served as a great place for star pilots to find work, and for factions and other groups to advertise and recruit members.

The layout of the cantina was quite organized. It often featured a stage, and the chairs were set up in a U-shape. Cantinas also had beverage dispensers, an office for employees and bartenders, and a VIP room for high-paying or loyal clients. Some cantinas even had a dueling area where high-paying customers could watch others participate in duels. For added privacy, cantinas also had booths or similar areas. It is important to note that a cantina usually only has one bartender.
