General Information Body Paragraph:
Naboo was a tiny pastoral world in the Mid Rim, close to the boundary of the Outer Rim Territories. Unlike other worlds, the ancient planet was formed out of a network of flooded caverns and tunnels rather than a molten core as most other worlds do. The indigenous Gungans seldom traveled into the planet's core due to their dread of the ferocious marine creatures that lived in places like the Caves of Eleuabad. The Gungans constructed their dwellings in the seas of Naboo so deep that they extended straight through the planet. Still, some Gungan explorers followed ancient trade routes through the planet's structure, as these were the fastest ways to go to different parts of the world. The interior of Naboo was abundant in plasma. a naturally occurring energy that is exclusive to the planet. This, together with the absence of a molten core, made Naboo a mystery to astronomers, who thought the structure of the planet was an incredibly uncommon occurrence in the galaxy.
History/Background Body Paragraph:
The planet was found by the Grizmallti people in 4000 BBY, and they called it Nabu after one of their main deities. Though it would be another century or more before there was permanent human habitation, Naboo soon gained notoriety among big-game hunters throughout the Mid Rim as a vacation destination and private hunting preserve. The Gungans first withdrew underwater to avoid the colonists and the newcomers.
Although the Gungans had been thriving for thousands of years prior, this did not continue until around 3900 BBY. A group of humans from the planet Grizmallt crash-landed on Naboo and established a tiny colony after escaping from a bloody civil war. They first avoided contact with the Gungans while they formed their own culture. Under the leadership of Kwilaan, the colonists made their way into the Gallo Mountains, established an agricultural colony at the top of Dee'ja Peak, and finally took the planet's name. The advent of Kwilaan marked the beginning of the Naboo era. Tensions between the two peoples developed once the colonists made contact with the Gungans, leading to a string of battles between the two species. After that, they decided to live apart from each other.
Later, the Naboo colonists spread to Karlinus and other desolate worlds in the Chommell sector. The colonists of these other worlds were forced to sign a contract with Naboo, under which Naboo would lend money to the new colonies to help with the initial costs of colonization. In return, the colonies were bound by law to give Naboo any supplies it thought essential if it needed them. Since its start, the new colonies have disputed the pact, claiming its conditions are unjust. What bothered them the most about the contract was that it had no expiration date. As per the agreement, Naboo periodically
Additional Information Body Paragraph:
In the meantime, the vast human city-states that ruled the planet had brutally been engaged in a protracted period of infighting that had left the Naboo as its victims. The conflict was eventually brought to an end by a commander by the name of Jafan, who brought the warring groups together using coercion and force of will. He established the Great Period of Peace and assumed the throne as King Jafan over all of Naboo.
Naboo's accession to the democratic Galactic Republic—a galactic federation aimed at governing the galaxy—was commemorated by the Naboo people during the Festival of Light. King Jafan established the nation of Theed in 832 BBY, laying the foundation for the capital city on the banks of the Solleu River and erecting the Theed Royal Palace atop the Theed Cliffs.
