The Imperial II-class Star Destroyer was a kind of star destroyer built by Kuat Drive Yards for the Imperial Navy. It was also referred to as the Class II Star Destroyer and by the rebels as the Impstar-Deuce. The class, which was a member of the Imperial-class family, replaced the Imperial I-class Star Destroyer. Equipped with an array of armaments, like ion cannons and turbo lasers, the 1,600-meter-long capital ship may be utilized as a command center for other ships or to enslave a planet.


History/Background Body Paragraph:

After the run of the Imperial I-class concluded with the Devastator, a ship that would later become the flagship of Darth Vader, Imperial enforcer and Sith apprentice to Emperor Palpatine, Kuat Drive Yards began building the Imperial II-class Star Destroyer around 9 BBY. A few Imperial Is—the Devastator among them—were modified to include communication tower-equipped bridges, just like Imperial IIs.

Imperial II-class Star Destroyers, like all Imperial-class ships, were equipped with ten tractor beam projectors, sixty heavy ion cannon emplacements, and sixty turbolaser batteries. The ships also carried eight Lambda-class T-4a shuttles, thirty All Terrain Scout Transports, twenty All Terrain Armored Transports, and seventy-two TIE line starfighters. The latter two were transported to planetary surfaces by at least two Gozanti-class cruisers. The two spacious hangar bays of the ship, situated side by side in the anterior wall of a ventral hull depression, housed all of these boats.
