Former Inquisitorius of the Galactic Empire, Marrok is a mysterious warrior who is sensitive to the Force. After the Empire fell, he worked for Nightsister Morgan Elsbeth. Marrok worked with former Jedi General Baylan Skoll and his disciple Shin Hati, as well as other Force-sensitive mercenaries, when employed by Elsbeth.

Marrok helped Elsbeth seek down Grand Admiral Thrawn somewhere in the New Republic Era, about 9 ABY. After the two engaged in a lightsaber combat on Corellia, where Marrok lost to Tano's hand in a follow-up battle on Seatos. Tano was a former Jedi Padawan. Sabine Wren, Tano's trainee, and Marrok's death did not stop Elsbeth from traveling to the far-off galaxy where Thrawn had been banished.

Background/History Body: 

During the Galactic Empire's control, Marrok, a humanoid Inquisitor, was a skilled Jedi hunter. Even though Darth Sidious had ordered all Jedi to be wiped out by the time the Clone Wars ended in 19 BBY, some Jedi were able to live. In retaliation, Sidious used the Inquisitorius, utilizing fallen Jedi to locate and destroy their remaining comrades.

Marrok took the organization's order to exterminate Jedi to extremities in his role as an Inquisitor, fighting for the Sith and the Empire. Sidious's tenure as Galactic Emperor saw a decline in the Jedi population due to the Inquisitorius's persistent efforts. Unfortunately, Sidious eventually viewed them as disposable due to their success. The Empire fell to the New Republic's ascent when Sidious and Darth Vader were killed in the Galactic Civil War.

Around 9 ABY, Marrok entered the New Republic Era and started a new chapter in his career as a mercenary hired by Nightsister Morgan Elsbeth. Marrok accompanied Baylan Skoll, the former Jedi general, and his trainee Shin Hati in Elsbeth's mission to rescue Grand Admiral Thrawn from jail. Their quest for a star chart that would indicate where Thrawn was ultimately led them to the remains of a Nightsister fortress on Arcana. Questions regarding their goals and allegiances surfaced during their pursuit, which paved the way for a convoluted web of motivations and behaviors inside their organization.

After the fall of the Empire, Marrok—a once-mysterious warrior who pursued Jedi for the Galactic Empire—became a hired mercenary, working behind Morgan Elsbeth's back. He traveled wherever he was told to go and completed his tasks as required, and Elsbeth considered Marrok to be trustworthy since Baylan Skoll had faith in his talents. Furthermore, during Marrok's tenure as Shin Hati's subordinate in the Denab system, he obeyed her orders.

As a warrior, Marrok engaged Ahsoka Tano in two distinct duel encounters. On Corellia, he first used an assassin droid's assistance, then on Seatos, he faced her alone, finally losing to the former Jedi. Fully encased in armor, Marrok's loss prompted a blast of green mist to emerge from the gash Tano's lightsaber produced in his gear.

With his Force awareness and skill with the lightsaber, Marrok faced Tano on an equal footing. He showed off his Force skills by throwing his lightsaber at Tano and used telekinesis to get it back. In addition, he demonstrated his flying prowess by maneuvering through a swarm of purrgil. Marrok was a former Inquisitor who had a wealth of knowledge when it came to finding Jedi opponents.
