General Information Body Paragraph: 

The Jedi Order would spread many different academies around the galaxy for the purpose of teaching many students. Each academy would be overseen by their own individual Advisory council. People would be appointed  by their higher ups  found on Coruscant. Each academy would be initially overseen by the Council of First Knowledge. Each academy according to the planet was unique in its own way with its own practices. Each academy had the same thing in common. They would have Jedi Masters teaching initiates in the way of the Jedi and the Force.

History/Background Body Paragraph:
Near the fall of the Republic in 19 BBY most academies were abandoned and/or shut down for many years. This being too the Council of First Knowledge preferring to main teachings at the main and sacred temple on Coruscant. During or after the Great Jedi Purge also in 19 BBY most academies would be purged, destroyed, and/or burned. This being because  the rising Empire wanted to prevent the teachings or way of the Jedi ever rising again. While they wanted to suppress only a bit after the Galactic Civil War Grand Master Luke skywalker was able to bring one singular class to the capacity of the former order. Thus bringing back the Jedi teachings.

Around the year 200 BBY many academies had student dorms, cafeterias, gyms, and many different types of training grounds. Such as which were duels to train and hone their lightsaber skills. Students were also given summer and spring breaks with vists from family permissible.
