Even Piell

General Information Body Paragraph:

Even Piell was a formidable Jedi Master who was also a member of the Jedi High Council during the infamous Clone Wars, where he met his unfortunate demise. Even Piell was a member of the Lannik species, born on the conflicted planet Lannik. Even Piell was a highly skilled warrior in lightsaber combat as well as in the Force. Piell served on the Jedi High Council during many conflicts, such as the Clone Wars and the Stark Hyperspace War. He acted as one of the order’s Senior Councillors, known for being outspoken, direct and one of the order’s strongest members. Even Piell was also known as being a scholar for the Council of First Knowledge, and he crafted a green lightsaber yet chose to pursue the path of a Guardian, where traditionally most guardians wielded a blue lightsaber.

History/Background Body Paragraph:

 Even Piell was born on the devastated planet Lannik to a destitute family where he was destined to live a life of suffering and misery.  However, he was soon discovered by the Jedi to be a Force-Sensitive infant and was taken to the Temple on Coruscant to begin his training. He showed promising skill both in the Force and in lightsaber combat through his years as a youngling and as a Padawan. Upon becoming a Jedi Knight, Even Piell would choose to become a Jedi Guardian, earning him the reputation of a cunning and elite warrior within the Jedi Order. Even Piell would soon become a Jedi Master sometime prior to the Stark Hyperspace War and was offered a long-term seat on the Jedi High Council. At this point, he was also made a scholar of the Jedi Council of First Knowledge. 

Even Piell would participate in numerous dangerous missions during the time he served as a Jedi High Councillor. He returned to his home planet to help his people in a conflict with a terrorist group known as Red Laro. During this time, two Corellian diplomats who represented the Republic attempted to bridge the gap between this terrorist group and hoped to find some common ground, but this utterly failed. This resulted in the retaliation of the Red Laro in which they stormed the chambers of Lannik royalty and held the Lannik Prince as well as the Corellian diplomats hostage. Even Piell would then be deployed in a rescue mission to rescue the prisoners and fight off the hostiles. The Jedi master fought hard and struck many of his opponents down, forcing the majority to retreat, thus rescuing the captives. However, the battle was intense and resulted in Even Piell severely wounded and losing an eye. Even Piell was offered bacta therapy and even a prosthetic replacement to recover from his lost eye, but the Jedi Master refused as he viewed the scarred eye as a sign of honour, bravery and the struggle that  his people had to endure. The two Corellian Diplomats had a daughter called Adi Galia and Even Piell was responsible for bringing her to the Jedi temple for training. Adi Galia was always grateful to Even Piell as he saved her parents and would one day go on to serve as a member of the Jedi High Council, becoming a colleague of Even Piell.

During the Separatist conflict against the Galactic Republic, Even Piell played a significant role as a General on the battlefield throughout the Clone Wars. Most notably, Even Piell and Admiral Tarkin both discovered hyperspace lanes that connected both Republic and Separatist words, which would be invaluable to both sides of the war. They both memorised a specific part of the map so that only they  could decipher the entire map as a whole. As they were returning to Coruscant to share this information they were ambushed and taken as hostages by the Separatist forces. They became prisoners in a place known as the Citadel, on the planet Lola Sayu. Even Piell was tortured in an attempt to force him to give the Separatists the information but he refused. As the Separatists were about to remove his final good eye, the rescue team led by Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker stormed him and saved him promptly. They would also rescue the remaining survivors of Even Piell’s men, along with Admiral Tarkin. The team struggled for a significant period while stuck on the island with no way off. They were greatly outnumbered by the droid army present at the citadel which was controlling their means of transportation off the island. As the team split up in an attempt to split up the enemy forces, Even Peill and Ahsoka Tano’s squad were quickly preoccupied with crab droids as well as the hound beasts released to track down the Jedi by the Separatists, the anoobas. As Even Piell was temporarily vulnerable after defeating the final crab droid, an anooba pounded and mortally wounded the Jedi master. Ahsoka quickly ran to his aid, defeating the Anooba, Even Piell's last words were telling Ahsoka his part of the hidden map he memorised. He gave clear instructions to Ahsoka to only reveal the information to the Jedi High Council. As the groups reunited, Even Piell’s body was wrapped in cloth as they took a moment to honour this Jedi’s life and now his sacrifice. They performed a ritual as a sign of respect before releasing his body into the lava of Lola Sayu. The team would continue, completing their mission and ensuring both Tarkin and Ahsoka would succeed in returning to Coruscant and revealing the information to the Jedi and the Republic.
