A human male physician named Royce Hemlock headed the covert Advanced Science Division as Chief Scientist for the Galactic Empire. He oversaw Project Necromancer, a covert clone research project that Emperor Palpatine felt was essential to the Empire's long-term survival.

Hemlock was once a member of the Galactic Republic's research corps. He became connected with Kaminoan Chief Medical Scientist Nala Se, but his unusual experiments brought him shame and banishment.

Hemlock rose to prominence in the early Imperial Era and became the head of Imperial cloning efforts at the occult Tantiss Base in 18 BBY. In order to unleash the Kaminoans' unique knowledge for a more enlightened society, he aspired to become the Scientific Minister.

Background/History Body: 

The head scientist of the Advanced Science Division, Doctor Hemlock, was tasked with overseeing the Galactic Empire's Imperial cloning program at Mount Tantiss in the year 18 BBY. Hemlock arrived at Tantiss Base in a transport shuttle, where he was greeted by Imperial clone commandos and scientist Scalder. Hemlock promptly informed Scalder that more ships were on their way and left the facility, not giving formalities any thought.

Royce Hemlock had light skin, blue eyes, and sleek, slicked-back dark brown hair. He was intensely focused on his work and eager to begin the Imperial cloning program. He had no problem utilizing threats of torture or intimidation to get individuals to do what he wanted from those who opposed the Empire. He was usually cool and collected when he spoke.

He had this habit of constantly tending to his left hand, which he wore a glove over.
