Bounty hunters are individuals who can be hired to capture or kill a designated target. The target will have a price or bounty on its head which the bounty hunter will collect upon successful capture or proof of death. Bounty hunters will sometimes work together as part of larger missions or to take on dangerous targets.

History/Background Body Paragraph:

During the reign of the Galactic Empire, many bounty hunters affiliated with the Bounty Hunters Guild, which was authorized by the Imperial Criminal Investigation Office to issue the Imperial Warrant of Peace, allowing the Bounty hunters access to DataCore Royal Execution. After the Battle of Endor, Zabrak bounty hunter Jas Emari attempted to collect New Republic bounties for Imperial officers Admiral Rae Sloane, Grand Moff Valco Pandion, General Jylia Shale, financier Arsin Crassus and the late Royal Advisor Yupe Tashu. Emari later joined Norra Wexley's team and played a role in the Akiva Rebellion. In the months following the Endor incident, bounty hunter Dengar predicted that the new government would begin forcing other bounty hunters to pay bounties. In 5 ABY, Grand Admiral Sloane later hired the bounty hunter Mercurial Swift to assassinate Vice Admiral Perwin Gedde and rescue Commander Brendol Hux and his son Armitage Hux from Arkanis on orders from Fleet Admiral Gallius Rax. Following the Liberation Day attack on Chandrila, the New Republic began denying services to bounty hunters in response to mass paranoia following the attack. Swift then decides to collect Black Sun crime boss Gyuti's bounty on Jas Emari. He hires Dengar, Embo and Jeeta as his crew. However, Emari managed to turn Swift's crew against him by convincing them that the New Republic would reward them for helping hunt down Grand Admiral Sloane. Due to their service at the Battle of Jakku, Dengar, Embo, and Jeeta received a full pardon and some money from the New Republic. They later join Emari's crew. Around 9 ABY, a galactic depression resulted in extremely low bounties, making dangerous professions less attractive. As a result, at the request of the bounty client or at the discretion of the local Guild boss, high-value targets were assigned to several bounty hunters equipped with tracking devices.

Since before the Clone Wars, bounty hunters have notably worked for the Hutt Clan. For example, Cad Bane and his group freed Ziro the Hutt from prison, and Sugi and Embo defended the Hutt Council when the traitorous Sith Lord Maul and the Death Watch attacked. Before the outbreak of the Clone Wars, Sith Lord Darth Tyranus hired Jango Fett as a clone model for Kamino's Clone Army. Tyranus then hired Fett and Zam Wesell to assassinate Senator Padmé Amidala of Naboo on orders from Trade Federation Viceroy Nute Gunray. Tyranus' master, Darth Sidious, hired Cad Bane to steal a holocron from the Jedi Temple. He also hired Embo to attack Senator Rush Clovis. Several bounty hunters, such as Sugi, Seripas, Embo, and Rumi Paramita were hired by Felucian Casiss Midagatis to protect his village from the Ohnaka Gang. Sugi and Seripas were later hired by Wookiee General Tarfful to take him and the His soldiers go to rescue Chewbacca from Trandoshan hunters in Wasskah. The Kaminoans hired Bric and El-Les to train clone practitioners. The Republic also placed bounties on fugitives wanted during the Clone Wars, such as Savage Opress. Even the Separatists offered a million credits to any Jedi. Sib Canay hired Greedo and his partner Gotal to kidnap Pantoran Chairman Papanoida's two daughters to Tatooine and the Droid Control Ship at Pantora. During the final years of the Galactic Republic, Jango Fett was hired by Darth Tyranus as the genetic model for the Grand Army of the Republic. During the Clone Wars, El-Les and Bric were hired to help train clone soldiers.
