General Information Body Paragraph:

The Pool of Knowledge was a Force Nexus, or a place of unusually high Force powers. It was attuned to the light side of the force, and located on a planet in the Maw. It was also located in the beyond shadows, and appeared as a dark pool in a dank grotto. 

History/Background Body Paragraph:

The Pool of Knowledge offers visions of the past and future if one is to bathe in it, and notable Jedi such as Luke Skywalker, and Jacen Solo were both offered the opportunity to bathe in it, and gain all the knowledge the world has to offer but both ended up declining the offer. After this the sith would bring Luke, and his son back to the Pool of Knowledge, and one of the sith wanting to know the identity of the jedi queen would bathe in the Pool of Knowledge and transform into the being known as Abeloth. 

Additional Information Body Paragraph 

Luke Skywalker and Jacen Solo considered the Pool of Knowledge to be a part of the Throne of Balance, and necessary to keep the world completely balanced both dark and light. The Pool of Knowledge showed the sith when they went on the planet images of their homeworld of Kesh, and the Jedi Queen sitting on the Throne of Balance.
