Article Theme/Topic: Cay Qel-Droma
General Information Body Paragraph:
Born before 4,000 BBY, Cay Qel-Droma was a human Jedi Knight that grew up on Alderaan and used a green lightsaber. He was the brother of Ulic Qel-Droma and was the son of Jedi Master Lien-Tsai Qel-Droma. The two Force-sensitive Qel-Dromas were taught under Jedi Master Arca Jeth and their father. Cay was also a part of the Jedis mission to end the conflicts during the Beast Wars, which he eventually accomplished in 4,000 BBY. Around this time, Cay’s brother was being trained by Jedi Master Exar Kun, both of whom eventually fell to the dark side of the Force. Cay was not swayed by Kun’s temptations and remained true to the Jedi Order.
History/Background Body Paragraph:
Born on the planet of Alderaan, Cay Qel-Droma and his brother were privy to many available resources for their training as future Jedi. Cay’s mother chose not to train the two as she feared she would not be able to contain her emotions to train Cay in the ways of the Force. Cay was eventually sent to a training center on Arkania where he met Master Arca Jeth. He became quite skilled in the ways of the Force and showed respect and admiration for the Jedi. Ulic Qel-Droma had also been sent there, and Cay became worried whenever Ulic grew resentful for failing in training sessions. Ulic resorted to passion and intensity rather than remaining calm and collected.
Additional Information Body Paragraph:
When Ulic Qel-Droma fell to the dark side of the Force and became a Sith Lord, Cay stood with the Jedi Order and was often at odds against his brother. The Jedi believed they could redeem Ulic and bring him back into the light. However, Ulic’s mind had been twisted and tortured so he could never revert back to the Jedi. After many encounters and attempts to save Ulic, Cay never lost hope that his brother could be brought back into the light. Their final meeting took place on the planet of Ossus, where they fought to the death. Cay refused to kill Ulic however, and still believed there was hope to redeem him. Using this hope against him, Ulic gained the upper hand in their duel and cut Cay through his arm and chest, fatally wounding him. In a moment of revelation, Ulic let go of the dark side and fell to his knees next to his brother. Cay died in his arms, but Cay Qel-Droma was successful in bringing his brother back from the darkness.
