Supreme Chancellor Lina Soh commissioned the Starlight Beacon as one of her Great Works. The Great Works were a series of projects designed to improve communication and connect the galaxy. Following the Great Hyperspace disaster, many Jedi and galaxy's elite attended the Starlight Beacon's opening event to celebrate the opening of the beacon. Located near the Outer Rim territories, the Starlight Beacon was built on the frontiers of the Republic. During a time when space travel was complex, the station served as a beacon for all travelers of the galaxy.

History/Background Body Paragraph

The Starlight Beacon served as a place where individuals of all species and cultures could converse. The station also included shops and exhibits, as well as facilities for military and Jedi training. In order to boost transmissions, the station itself was made of a mineral called Triazurite. During the High Republic era, the terminal was considered one of the most advanced technologies.

Additional Information Body Paragraph

The Starlight Beacon had become somewhat obsolete by the Age of the Empire, as newer technology emerged over the next two centuries. Furthermore, Commander Grek used the name of the beacon as inspiration for a mission dubbed Operation Starlight.
