Similar to how lightsabers are built, energy bows utilize plasma energy for bow strings in favor of more solid materials such as fiber or twine. The arrows released by the energy bow are also made of plasmatic energy.

Bounty hunter Shalla Mondatha used an energy bow as her main weapon of choice, in inspiration for those built on Dathomir by the Nightsisters. A soldier named Jannah managed to create a different variation of the original energy bows by forcing the energy to impart, creating a charge to fuel a physical arrow in flight during the time of the First Order and the Resistance. Omega, a clone of Jango Fett, was also believed to wield a Zygerrian energy bow.
