Jawa Species 

General Information Body Paragraph

The Jawa were very short, furry, humanoid creatures that inhabited Tatooine. They normally measured about one meter but the abnormally tall ones were almost two meters being nearly as tall as a 3PO-series protocol droid. The Jawa’s were also stated to have a musky, animal odor near to the smell of a group of wet rats. This species were scavengers. They looked around the different temples on Tatooine looking for droid parts or full droids to capture and sell to the residents. However,  they were known to sell refurbished and faulty droids, so many moisture farmers were cautious when trading. Due to the lack of other means, the farmers often bought from them anyway. The Jawa traveled around the sandy deserts of Tatooine using sandcrawlers that were left behind by miners. They also used ion blasters to stun droids. Their relationship with Tusken raiders was a surprisingly peaceful one due to the raiders being an aggressive species.

History/Background Body Paragraph

Around 232 BBY, during the High Republic Era, a group of Jawas accidentally kidnapped RJ-83 from Nash Durango and Jedi Initiate Kai Brightstar after a misunderstanding. One band of Jawas was responsible for the reuniting of C-3PO and R2-D2 after the duo crashed their escape pod on Tatooine. They then later sold the droids to Luke Skywalker’s uncle. This clan was later slaughtered by stormtroopers who had come searching for the droids. 

Additional Information Body Paragraph

No one really ever truly knew the appearance of the Jawa so it led to many speculations by the inhabitants of Tatooine. Their relationship with Tusken raiders was a surprisingly peaceful one due to the raiders being an aggressive species. They also loved mudhorn eggs. They would go as far as to trade a big pile of parts for one egg. Jawas eventually expanded out to a few other planets including Nevarro, still keeping their scavenger lifestyle.
