The SoroSuub Corporation produced the "Renegade" heavy blaster gun. It occupied a design niche similar to the T-6 "Thunderer" of BlasTech Industries and the C-10 "Dragoneye Reaper" of Czerka Arms, and it had the highest energy output of any SoroSuub blaster pistol model.

The Renegade dominated the super-heavy blaster pistol market because it was lighter and less expensive than its competitors; however, most enthusiasts avoided the mass-market weapon due to its poor beam cohesion and awkwardly angeled grip, preferring pricier but higher-quality options.

Due to its massive and intimidating barrel housing, the Renegade was a favorite weapon of pirates and outlaws throughout the Outer Rim Territories.

It was also widespread among Rebel Alliance Special Operations forces, however, most who survived a few missions were known to replace it. Many smaller species, such as Sullustans, modified the Renegade with a folding stock and used it as a carbine instead.
