Force Cloak, or Force Camouflage, was a rare Force talent that used light and sound waves in order to appear invisible to the naked eye. It was mostly found in members of the Jedi Order prior to the Galactic Empire, and the destruction of Coruscant’s Jedi Temple. This technique was lost by the Jedi, but it was perfected by the Disciples of Twilight, a mysterious sect. Force Cloak shouldn’t be confused with Force Blank, which causes a void in the Force. While the former was a talent or skill of the Light Side, the latter was an inherent power of the Dark Side.

History/Background Body Paragraph:

Its origin is unknown, but it was studied for a long time by the Jedi Order, even back during the Great Sith Wars, when it was called “Alter ability”. It was known that Jedi Knight Juhani had a natural talent for this technique back then. The Jedi Master/Sith Lord Darth Traya also preferred this skill, as she viewed perception as simply a tool in order to manipulate others. In the Great Holocron within the Jedi Temple on Coruscant there was information about this skill, and it remained like that for centuries. Anakin Skywalker, one of the most famous Dark Lords of the Sith, learned this skill during the Clone Wars. As Darth Vader, he used this ability to remain invisible before fighting Luke Skywalker on Bespin. Darth Maul was also capable of using this technique, as he was trained to keep himself hidden from others. Even after the Jedi Order’s disbandment at the hands of the Galactic Empire, the art lived on in many others. Padawan Maris Brood perfected this technique to the point that it became deadly, using it in conjunction with Force-enhanced speed, as shown in her duel against Sith assassin Starkiller, although she lost. Jedi Jin-Lo Rayce taught this technique to members of his group, the Agents of Ossus, in order to avoid being detected by the Inquisitorius. After the reformation of the Jedi Order, its members would rediscover the Great Holocron, and relearned this skill. Outside of the Jedi, there were other groups with knowledge of this power, and who developed it in their own ways. Former Dathomiri Nightsister Lomi Plo was skilled with this ability, masking herself from others during the Dark Nest Crisis. The cult known as the Disciples of Twilight created many variations of it to suit their needs.

A variation of this technique was known as Shadow Armor, where the users would bend light and shadow around themselves to make their presence the same as darkness. As the technique bent light similarly to a cloaking device, users of it could evade detection not only by other living beings, but also from droids and beings such as the Yuuzhan Vong.
