Yarael Poof was a Quermian male who served on the Jedi High Council between 232 BBY and 22 BBY. As a master of the way of the Force, Poof was an expert in illusions and mind tricks. Unlike other Jedi, Poof was a master of Form 0, ‘Negotiation’, and rarely partook in lightsaber combat. Poof was an excellent teacher and mentor and was responsible for many modern Jedi ideologies by the time of the pre-Clone Wars era. Following the aftermath of the ‘Emergences’ by the hand of the Nihil, Poof was a major contributor in ending the possibilities of future Emergences. Poof was the start of many arguments against the idea of Jedi becoming Republic peacekeepers and justice. Years later in 32 BBY,  Poof was present for the assessment of Anakin Skywalker and resurgence of the Sith as noted by Qui-Gon Jinn. Poof remained sitting on the Jedi High Council up until his unfortunate passing in 22 BBY during an unknown mission.

Yarael Poof was a male Quermian–a species with distinctive long necks. Quermians also harnessed two brains and two sets of arms. Poof had pasty-white skin and red eyes and stood a tall 2.64 meters.

Following Poof’s death in 22 BBY, he was replaced on the council by Master Coleman Trebor, who would also perish the same year in the First Battle of Geonosis.
