The Shadow Collective was a large, coordinated alliance of the biggest criminal organizations in the galaxy under the disguised leadership of Maul, an exiled Sith. Maul created the Collective partially to defeat the established Sith Order and in part to also defeat the CIS and Republic and finally dominate the galaxy. Maul’s influence brought the planet of Mandalore under his control to use as a base for his operation. This was lost however in a subsequent Republic invasion of the world to restore order and capture the elusive Sith and his brother Savage.

History/Background Body Paragraph:

The Shadow Collective formed due to the Mandalorian terrorist group ‘Death Watch’ rescuing Maul and Savage Oppress from certain death. Despite initial wariness due to Maul’s Sith background, the groups formed an alliance known as the Shadow Collective to conquer Mandalore and vanquish Obi Wan Kenobi, Maul’s greatest enemy. After gaining influential alliances with other powerful criminal bodies, the Shadow Collective attacked Mandalore and took it over mercilessly. It was at this point Death Watch betrayed Maul, causing a leadership duel between Pre Vizsla and Maul. The Sith won this encounter and was declared ruler of Mandalore.

Crime organizations in the Collective were at one point or another: Death Watch, Black Sun, Hutt Cartel, Pike Syndicate and Crimson Dawn. These alliances secured the collective with vital links for weapon supply and information. Mandalorian members painted their armor to match Maul's iconic red Zabrak markings.
