General Information Body Paragraph: 

Darth Mekhis, a Human female Dark Lord of the Sith. Mekhis served the resurgent Sith Empire, serving as the head of the Sphere of Technology throughout the Great Galactic War and the majority of the Cold War. Mekhis was a brilliant scientist but she had been warped by the dark side of the Force. Despite Mekhis’ loss to Jedi Satele Shan during the Battle of Rhen Var, she survived and continued constructing super weapons for the Sith Empire until her death in 3643 BBY.

History/Background Body Paragraph: 

Darth Mekhis served on the Dark Council of the resurgent Sith Empire during the Great Galactic War. Here she fought in several battles, with the most remembered of these being the Battle of Rhen Var. Here, Mekhis had established a fortress as a command center, until the arrival of Jedi Satele Shan and her Republic forces. Shan went on to force open the door to Mekhis’ chamber using her connection to the Force. Mekhis, seemingly in the hands of Shan, was asked to surrender and in exchange would receive protection, but Mekhis refused. The result was a fierce duel that severely injured Mekhis before her eventual escape from Rhen Var.

After Rhen Var, Mekhis spent more and more time focusing on designing weaponry. This was especially so throughout the Cold War as Mekhis produced more and more weaponry designs at the Sun Razer facility that she had created. It was here, at the Sun Razer facility, that Mekhis would design a new and experimental class of warship known as the Javelin Dreadnought. These dreadnoughts were capable of using weapons to flash irradiate a planet’s surface from space. The result would be that all life on the planet within a three kilometer radius would be annihilated in an instant once weapon fired. The prototype of this ship, christened the Ror’jhan, was named using the Sith language and translated states “She-whose-leaves-sweat-poison”, an ode to the future of this weapon.

Mekhis was aboard her Sun Razer facility within the Vesla system when she discovered that a certain Republic field agent had been captured. Captain Eisek, a Human commander serving in the Imperial Navy, alerted Mekhis about the capture of Theron Shan and Jedi Master Ngani Zho. Mekhis quickly ordered the execution of Ngani, but plans went awry and both the Jedi and Shan were able to escape. Though Master Ngani eventually fell to a brave death protecting a female Twi’lek, Shan made his way towards Mekhis. Once Shan reached Mekhis, he quickly alerted her that he was the son of Jedi Satele Shan who had beaten her years before, this information threw off the Dark Lord who was very quickly defeated through the use of a toxicity-ten poison. This poison paralyzed Darth Mekhis, and unable to move, she was left to die aboard the Sun Razer as it exploded.

After the death of Darth Mekhis, Darth Hadra, her rival, took her seat on the Dark Council. Mekhis’ constructions would go on to wreak havoc within the numbers of the Republic with her most famed weapon, the Ascendant Spear, becoming the ultimate Sith warship until its destruction over the planet Duro, at the hands of none other than Theron Shan. 

This tale has many lessons that a Jedi can learn from. Highlight of which is to stay in the moment, do not let your emotions or thoughts gain control of your actions. During Darth Mekhis’ death she allowed herself to become overwhelmed by emotion and thoughts of the past and the result was her death. A Jedi must learn to act more like that of Master Ngani, thinking not of our feelings but focusing on the present and saving those who are around us.
