Perlemian Trade Route

The Perlemian Trade Route was one of the longest hyperspace lanes in the galaxy. Over the years, it became one of the core travelling routes in the Galactic Republic, linking the Core Worlds to the Outer Rim Territories and enabling a passage between the richest planets in the region with the ones yet to be discovered by then.

History/Background Body Paragraph:

The Perlemian Trade Route connected many important Republican planets, such as Coruscant, Onderon, and Kashyyyk, with less-developed worlds, such as Felucia and Voss. Besides being the main transportation path in the region, the Perlemian Trade Route also intertwined many famous Imperial worlds, crossing many routes leading to the nearby Korriban, Nathema, and Malachor. The lane was also parallel to the Hydian Way- another important hyperspace trail connecting Zygerria, Dathomir, Taris, and Yavin 4 in the same part of the Outer Rim.

 Because of its cartographical importance, the Perlemian Trade Route was a popular choice for military tacticians and merchants. In the early years of the Old Republic, it was used to establish a connection with Ossus- one of the core Jedi planets.It also connected it with Coruscant and the nearby Hydian Way, proving beneficial during the Tionese war. Its location caused it, along with the famous Corellian Run, to become borderlines for the Slice region, which has been populated and economically developed quickly thanks to these two hyperspace routes.
