The Barsen’thor was a title and ceremonial rank used throughout the Jedi Order during the era of the Old Republic and for many centuries prior. The title was given to very few exceptional Jedi throughout history, with only three known Barsen’thors existing in the history of the Jedi Order. The rank’s name originates from the Cerean language, translating to “Warden of the Order”.

History/Background Body Paragraph:

The first known bestowing of the rank of Barsen’thor was given to Jedi Padawan Lorjan Sakku after his tragic death. He was slain in a duel with his own brother Lyhesh, where he was successful in redeeming him to the light at the cost of his own life. His master bestowed the rank of Barsen’thor on him posthumously. The second Barsen’thor has very little information known about them, with any information about their history and name lost to time. The third known usage of the rank of Barsen’thor, however, was during the time of the Cold War in 3643 BBY. The rank was bestowed to a young Jedi Master known as Zaphari Karras, a Miraluka Consular who was able to save a number of Jedi Masters from an ancient dark plague using a Force Shielding ability. Upon redeeming the creator of the plague, Lord Vivicar, Master Karras was bestowed this rank by her master, Yuon Par.

The title of Barsen’thor had incredible ceremonial meaning to the Jedi and was therefore only given to incredibly exceptional Jedi. It’s due to these strict requirements that the title was only seen three times throughout the history of the Jedi. The rank is mostly ceremonial and does not have much meaning in regards to status in the Jedi Order, evident due to the rank being given to both a Padawan and a Jedi Master on separate occasions.
