General Information Body Paragraph:

The heavy cruiser MС 80 is the backbone of the rebel fleet in the civil war against the Empire and the ship that gave the rebels the opportunity to defeat star destroyers in many battles. MС-80 has a decent speed for its size due to 9 powerful engines in the stern of the ship. In addition to speed, it boasts incredibly powerful deflector shield generators. The shield they created made it possible to resist several star destroyers at once, such a ship was incredibly useful and important for any cell of the rebel fleet. In terms of armament power, the MС-80 was inferior to the same star destroyers of the empire, but such a disadvantage was covered by powerful shields, speed and a large number of guns on the ship. 

History/Background Body Paragraph:

The MС-80 was originally conceived as a colonial/cruise liner with lots of portholes and amenities inside. Created on the planet Moncalo, the MС-80 was difficult to convert to a crew of almost any kind, the rebel technicians had to work hard to adapt the ship to air-breathing species. In all its glory, the MC-80 demonstrated itself during the battle over Endor, opposing the death squadron and supporting aviation. MС-80 served the rebels (and then the new Republic) an excellent service, although they did not have impressive firepower, their contribution to the war was not illusory. Over time, the MС-80 was replaced by the more promising MС-80b and MС-90, but during the war with the Southerners, the MС-80 model ships were returned to the fleet of the new Republic, replacing the destroyed heavy cruisers (MС-90 and others) with them

It is worth noting that most of the weapons of the MS-80 were in the wings. The ship was armed with: 48 turbolaser batteries, 20 ion batteries, 6 obsolete capture beams.
