General Information Body Paragraph:

The Battle of Geonosis was the first battle during the Clone Wars. It commenced when Jedi Master Mace Windu led a strike team of Jedi to help rescue Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Padme Amidala. Windu’s team was quickly outnumbered when Count Dooku had his droid army attack. Jedi Grandmaster Yoda soon came in with reinforcements; the clone troopers helped get the survivors to safety. They made an attempt to capture the notorious Count Dooku, but he soon escaped. This battle led to many other gruesome ones in the later years. The battle of Ryloth was another of the bigger campaigns during The Clone Wars. This battle put the Republic, and it put the Twi’lek against the Separatist alliance. The battle was due to an invasion that completely overwhelmed the local republic. Even though there were humanitarian efforts from the nearby planet Toydaria, the battle was followed by a subjugation of  the people of Ryloth, which was led by the Separatists.

History/Background Body Paragraph:

The Clone Wars started in the year 22 BBY and ended in the year 19 BBY. It was a battle that spread across a wide area of the galaxy. It stretched far beyond Republic space. It was named “The Clone Wars” due to the clone troopers that fought for the Republic during battle. The republic was to face the Separatist’s Droid army. Both of these armies were some of the largest in galactic history. The Clone Wars soon ended due to a plot from Darth Sidious; he used inhibitor chips that were placed in the clones, and he made them kill all of the Jedi. Then, once his plan was completed, Darth Sidious established his new Galactic Empire, and he had Inquisitors hunt down the Jedi that survived.

Additional Information Body Paragraph:

Almost immediately after the Battle of Geonosis, General Grievous and his droids fought for control of the galaxy’s major hyperspace lanes. This was to further decrease the Republic's power and control of the battle. During the next phase of the Clone Wars though, Jabba The Hutt alongside the Hutt clan, became a supporting member of both the Republic, and the separatists.

Additionally to the Battle of Geonosis, there was the second Battle of Geonosis. As soon as the second Battle of Geonosis began, the Geonosians intercepted the Republic's LAAT gunships. This caused only Commander Cody and his detachment of AT-TE walkers to reach the Republic’s staging area. The start alone caused the second Battle of Geonosis to be a grueling one in itself.
