Death Watch
General Information Body Paragraph:
Death Watch, also known as Kyr’tsad, was a Mandalorian group created by Tor Vizsla. This group had the intention to one day bring back the Mandalorians to their original roots, which was to be galactic crusaders. Death Watch was founded in 60 BBY, and fragmented during 42 BBY. Their main headquarters was located, before it was destroyed and disbanded, on the planets of Endor and Concordia.
History/Background Body Paragraph:
During the Ithullan war in 200 BBY, a select few Mandalorian Warriors decided to shatter their reputation from the past. A few years later, a new Mandalorian leader, Jaster Mereel, was elected. Mereel preached that the Mandalorians should only accept offers that would be profitable for them and must be held to the best of the best. People began disagreeing with these ways that Mereel put forward and began grouping with Tor Vizsla, who created his movement known as ‘Death Watch’ to bring the ancient Mandalorian roots back. The founding of this group would later lead to the Mandalorian Civil War.
On the world known as Concord Dawn, the Death Watch and the True Manadalorians began to bombard each other and because of this, it began the Mandalorian Civil War. Mareel and his True Mandalorians ended up losing the battle and had to face themselves with an embarrassing retreat. Once the other group retreated, Tor Vizsla sent his Warriors out to locate and execute the True Mandalorians. Later, Vizsla and his troops found a young man, known as Jango Fett with his family. Vizsla forced Jango to take the troops to Jango’s father, who was hiding Mareel and his remaining group of troops. Jango’s mother ended up interrupting this hostage situation and executing one of the members of the Death Watch. Suddenly, Vizsla and his troopers were yet again interrupted by Mareel and his Mandalorian Warriors and took back Jango. Jango ended up being rescued, however; both of his parents were murdered and his sister was kidnapped by the Death Watch. Vizsla ended up burning down the fields they escaped into, with a warning to the True Mandalorians that they would end up defeating them. Vizsla and his warriors ended up going to celebrate at a town, however; the True Mandalorians were there and ended up defeating most of the Death Watch members, and even Jango ended up killing the Warrior who executed both of his parents. Years after this event, the True Mandalorian fell into a trap by the Death Watch and followed them to the planet Korda Six. Jango Fett was now a fully-grown Mandalorian and ended up in the battle with the Death Watch, with the True Mandalorians on his side, followed by his command, and Mareel, now as the second in command. Unfortunately, Vizsla ended up shooting down Mareel, which led to the True Mandalorians having to yet again flee, which led the Death Watch to be the victors of this encounter.
Around 44 BBY, the leader of planet “Galidraan” in the Outer Rim allowed Death Watch to stay at his castle. Vizsla was funded by the governor so he could rebuild Death Watch back to his full force. The governor, instructed by Death Watch, got the True Mandalorians to handle something on Galidraan. The governor ended up calling the Jedi Council, informing them that the True Mandalorians were targeting and murdering political leaders. Fett went to the castle where the governor was being housed, and where the Death Watch was, however; they did not know that. He fell into the trap and began to get attacked by the Death Watch, Fett escaped through the castle, using his jetpack. The Jedi began landing and were being led by Jedi Master Dooku who ended up defeating the True Mandalorians and sold Fett away to slavery. A couple of years later, Fett escaped his slavery and returned for his armour that was lost on Galidraan and returned to the governor, who ended up revealing the location of Death Watch. Fett ended up finding Death Watch in their ship “Death Rattle” hovering above the planet of Corellia and began shooting and destroying it within his starfighter. Fett ended up barging through the ship and began a face-to-face battle with Vizsla, and ended up with the defeat of Tor Vizsla, leaving the remaining Death Watch members to hide within the galaxy.
When the Grand Army of the Republic was created, Jango Fett was the main battle advisor for the Army. Fett ended up handpicking 175 Mandalorians to train the most immaculate clone troopers, and ended up training the clones to be a part of a group known as Cuy’val Dar, which means “Those Who No Longer Exist”. Two of the one hundred and seventy-five Mandalorians tried to shove the beliefs of Death Watch into the clones. Though Death Watch was weakened, it still ran under the main principles that it originally went under. Twelve years after Fett found out what the two Mandalorians were doing, he was murdered in the Battle of Geonosis. When the remaining Death Watch members found out about the defeat of Jango Fett, they had a few of them going for a newly made faction, which was named the New Mandalorians. The New Mandalorians aimed for pacifism, and defeating the ways of the True Mandalorians, which were to be efficient warriors. Pre Vizsla was the current leader of the Death Watch, as he was the leader of Concordia, where the Death Watch was secretly hiding out. Death Watch ended up allying with the Confederacy of Independent Systems so they could gain some more influential power within the Galaxy. Due to this alliance, Death Watch did a mission against the Republic to destroy a Republic cruiser. Unfortunately, the Death Watch commando ended up being captured, but later committed suicide rather than giving up his secrets. Due to this, rumours went around the Galaxy that Satine Kryze, who was the leader of the New Mandalorians, was training the army that attacked the republic for the Separatists. Due to these rumours, Jedi Master Obi-Wan-Kenobi ended up appearing on the planet of Mandalore to discuss and talk with Satine. She ended up revealing that Death Watch had returned, and it was proved when a Mandalorian a part of Death Watch bombed the memories of Sundari and ended up killing himself when he saw Kenobi coming after him. Kenobi later explored Mandalore and came across the base where Death Watch was hiding. Once the essence of Kenobi was revealed to Death Watch, Pre Vizsla revealed he was the Commander of Death Watch, and he and his troops fled away from the planet.
Satine begins her journey to the home of the Republic, Coruscant, to destroy any thoughts or ideas that she is leading Death Watch. Hearing of this, Death Watch tried to take her life in another attempt. The senator of Mandalore, Tal Merrik, was within Death Watch’s groups and assigned some assassins onto the ship to kill Satine. Kenobi boarded the ship to help guard Satine and approached all the passengers with a probe, which revealed Merrik, leading him to take Satine as a hostage. Merrik began heading to the bridge of the ship with Satine, executing everyone in his way. All of a sudden, B2 super battle droids began entering the ship to distract everyone from Merrik escaping with Satine. Kenobi approached Merrik and attempted to arrest him, however, it was revealed the ship was rigged to escape. All of a sudden when he was about to escape, Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker gloomed behind him and took advantage of that, and executed him.
Satine hastily made it to Coruscant, while Death Watch returned to their base on Concordia, where they planned a surprise invasion on Mandalore. Prime Minister Almec of Mandalore was informed of this invasion and protested that they would not be able to take Mandalore without any backup from the people of Mandalore. An assassin was sent to Coruscant from Death Watch to target and eliminate Satine. However; the assassin failed to kill Satine, and she ended up showing the evidence to the Republic. To make it worse, the Senate decided not to send Republic troops to Mandalore, which allowed the invasion to indefinitely take place.
Death Watch later destroyed their alliance with Dooku and set out to one day murder him. On the planet Carlac, they set a home and began kidnapping females. Someone known as ‘Lux Bonteri’, on the planet Carlac thought that Death Watch was a respectful, kind, and honorable group of Mandalorians. The head of this planet ordered Death Watch to return their people, however, they did not end up complying and burned down the home where they were. However, one of the people there was Jedi Padawan Ahsoka Tano. Tano ended up fighting with one of the Death Watch, however she was captured soon after. Tano ended up escaping from their clutches when R2-D2 made the Death Watch droids rebel against them.
Once Tano escaped from the planet, the Republic forces ended up entering Carlac after shooting down a star frigate ship. The Republic Forces ended up noticing a Death Watch Resistance camp, so they also created one to fight off the Death Watch. Due to this a battle of Carlac had begun. A Jedi Knight destroyed the Death Watch camps and killed Sergeant Kellov. After destroying the Death Watch Camp, the Jedi Knight ended up entering the captive village, but once Death Watch was notified of this, they began burning it down. LAAT/I began being deployed by the Republic, and along with that, the Jedi Knight ended up destroying Vizsla, Kro Lann, Mord Jayran, and Kherr Dawar.
Additional Information Body Paragraph:
Death Watch began to create another base on Zanbar and aimed to rebuild what they had in the past. Later they found an escape pod that had the essence of Maul and his sibling, Savage. Maul and Savage were spared by Death Watch, and later they eventually allied together. They then all returned to Mandalore, where the people all wanted a battle. Vizsla won this battle, gave himself the title of the Leader of Mandalore, and declared he would bring back the Mandalorians to what they used to be, warriors. Maul was unhappy with Vizsla and wanted to battle him for the title of Leader of Mandalore. Pre Vizsla was the loser of the battle and was later executed by Maul using his Darksaber against him, making him the winner and the new leader of Death Watch and Mandalore. A separate group of Mandalorians in Death Watch, led by Bo-Katan refused Maul as the leader and battled the fellow Death Watch who did not follow them. Due to this, Death Watch was grouped into two groups now, those who followed Bo-Katan and those who followed Maul. Satine’s followers allied with the Nite Owls, and they aimed to save the Duchess from the prison she was locked in. They eventually helped Satine, whom she called Kenobi, before she was yet again captured. The Senate and Jedi Order stopped themselves from entering this battle, which forced Kenobi to go alone and rescue Satine. Unfortunately, Satine’s rescue failed, which ended in her execution which ripped Kenobi apart. Sidious ended up appearing and battling Maul, which he was nearly defeated but was spared. Kenobi ended up escaping with help from the Nite Owls and a couple of fellow associates. Spar, an ARC Trooper for the Galactic Army, fled from Kamino and arrived at Mandalore. Spar gave himself a nickname known as, “Mandalore the Resurrector”. Many Death Watch members were recruited and still desired to return to their Warrior Roots. Mandalore then took away its neutral title and allied itself with the Confederacy of Independent Systems.
