General Information Body Paragraph: 

Muunilinst is a planet located on the Braxant Run, in the Obtrexta sector. It was nicknamed Moneylend because of its large amounts of rich minerals and it was also known to be the headquarters of the InterGalactic Banking Clan, which was one of the most powerful and influential business organizations in the Galactic Republic. It played host to a colony of Muuns, a lanky humanoid species originally residing on the planet of Scipio. Muunilinst was known to have a beautiful landscape, from the lush forests and oceans to the marvelous sky looking down on them. The planet’s shallow oceans were littered with active volcanoes, known as “smokers”. These “smokers” spewed out the gas forms of pure valuable minerals from the planet’s liquid iron core. 

History/Background Body Paragraph:

The Muun race, shortly after gaining their independence from the Rakata, started the economy of the planet of Muunilinst as a small farming and fishing society, instating Harnaidan as their capital city. That lasted until they realized the value of precious metals that were right below their feet the whole time. The Muuns, being a greedy and self-centered race, developed a lust for credits. A lust that could only be satisfied by them selling their precious metals. The planet aligned with the Republic before the Clone Wars, satisfying its economical needs. During the wars, Muunilinst backed both the Confederacy of Independent Systems (or the CIS,) and the Republic. The Separatists, however, began building droid factories on the planet, and it became a Separatist hub. In an attempt to lead the planet back to the Republic,  Jedi Knights Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker, and Jedi Master Voolvif Monn, led the Battle of Muunilinst in 22 BBY. They were successful, but at a great cost. The Muun’s infrastructure was heavily damaged and devastated the galaxy’s economy as a whole. By the end of the Clone Wars, the planet was back in Separatist rule. With the fall of the Republic and the rise of the Empire, Muunilinst was hailed as vital to the Empire’s economic stability. The Empire took control over their government so they could manipulate them just like they did with the whole rest of the galaxy. After the fall of the Empire, Muunilinst remained under the control of  the Imperial Remnant, which was a mock Empire controlled by different Imperial warlords who took control over their own domains after the fall of the Empire. The planet then took heavy damage again during the Yuuzhan Vong invasion of much of the galaxy. Muunilinst was eventually able to recover, however. The years following this, the planet’s control was transferred through many different Empires until it eventually reached the control of the Galactic Federation Triumvirate. 

Additional Information Body Paragraph:

The pillars surrounding the capital city of Harnaidan reached up to 4 kilometers, or about 2.5 miles into the sky. The city played host to a population of roughly 50 million residents, whose finances ranged from the rich elite to the lowly poor. The poor were forced to work in the mineral rich, naturally heated hot springs outside of the city, gathering mollusks and algae. In conclusion, Muullilinst served as a financial hub for generations upon generations of empires and trade organizations. Without its support, the galaxy’s economy would have surely collapsed.
