General Information Body Paragraph

Ewoks are a carnivorous mammal species that walk on two legs. They are native to the forest moon of Endor and speak Ewokese. They are strong despite being at an average height of one meter tall. Their whole bodies are covered in fur, with colors ranging from browns, blacks, and whites. Ewoks lived in complex wooden structures stationed above ground in the trees. They were very adept at hunting and catching prey. However, their society as a whole lacked any big technological advancements like other civilizations. Being spiritual people, they were very connected to nature around them.

History/Background Body Paragraph

In the early stages of life for the Ewoks, they were but a simple people, only taking part in the development of art and culture during the Imperial era. But soon, the Galactic Civil War came to them. With an invasion of the moon of Endor made by the Empire, Ewok villages were destroyed to be replaced with an Imperial operative base. The Ewoks aided the Rebel Alliance to take back their home and destroy the base. The Imperial Stormtroopers' equipment was outmatched by the Ewoks' guerilla-style warfare, which allowed for victory. The Ewoks saw their peak in power during the resistance movement against the First Order.

Additional Information Body Paragraph

Ewoks were not supposed to be featured in Episode VI. Instead, it was supposed to be the Wookie species that would aid the Rebels. However, George Lucas wanted a more primitive society and created the Ewoks through a play on the word “Wookie”.
