General Information Body Paragraph: 

Younglings are a colloquial, broad term, for any force sensitive child who has been voluntarily and consensually taken from their families, to do Jedi Trainings on many temples and academies in the galaxy. These Jedi tests ranged from academies, to lectures, to physical training, as well as reciting The Jedi Code. Younglings originate from all different species, wookies, organics, and more. Younglings were divided into "clans", 10 clans according to canon lore. The Youngling also participated in various other duties, like using training sabers to deflect blasters, and learning the ways to deflect blasters. This was done so they could eventually progress to a higher level within the Initiate Trials. Younglings were also known as "Initiates", and therefore, the tests they completed were known as "The Initiate Trials". 

Younglings also trained with a Jedi Master,  a Jedi Master would be the one responsible for the clan, and hosting the ceremony at the end of the Initiate Trials, known as the "Crystal Gathering". The Crystal Gathering involved a Jedi Master taking a small, certain group of Younglings, one's who have proved themselves to be capable, to the frosted ice planet of IIum. There, these Younglings undergo an amount of serious challenges and tests that they must overcome to get their crystal and construct their lightsaber.  These tests would usually be of their biggest fears and insecurities, an example being if you had a fear of heights, your crystal might be on a large cliff.

History/Background Body Paragraph: The history of the Younglings began a thousand years ago, when all Younglings of all Youngling clans were trained by Yoda, the past and present Grand Master of the Order. However, during the height of the Clone Wars,  Yoda only hosted the Crystal Gathering, he did not host the main Initiate Trials. Even Yoda himself was a youngling, as such were all Jedi, and they were all trained by their respective masters, some of them even becoming master’s themselves. The Younglings were typically removed from their family homes at around the age of four to six, anything beyond that and it is too old, as quoted by the Jedi Council themselves. The history of the Younglings was quickly put to an abrupt end when Anakin Skywalker, a Jedi Knight, fell to the dark side, and slaughtered every Youngling in the Jedi Temple, located on Coruscant.

Younglings also trained with a Jedi Master.  Many Younglings upon recruitment were no bigger than the size of your foot to your knee, maybe half the size.
