Article Theme/Topic: CAM
General Information Body Paragraph:
Cam droids were used by the New Republic and the Galactic Society of Creature Enthusiasts as recording devices or for displaying holograms. In 34 ABY, a droid named CAM was created and served alongside SF-R3 to explore the wildlife of planets across the galaxy. The pair of droids would broadcast their findings back to the Galactic Society of Creatur Enthusiasts and would talk to each other on their adventures.
History/Background Body Paragraph:
CAM and SF-R3 traveled to the planet of Hoth in order to learn more about tauntauns. Tauntauns were white, furry creatures that were often used to traverse the frigid planet. While on Hoth, they also learned about the wampa, a large species that stood over three meters tall. They discovered that snow could cure illnesses present in a wampa. After their adventures on the ice planet of Hoth, they traveled to the deserts of Tatooine. CAM and SF-R3 were able to learn about banthas and the Tusken Raiders, The banthas were large, hairy creatures that were often used to ride across the sands of the planet. The Tusken Raiders used them as transport and for companionship, and in return, would clean their teeth and their fur. CAM and SF-R3 took note that the Tusken Raiders were proficient in cleaning banthas, and showed a strong connection to these hairy creatures.
Additional Information Body Paragraph:
CAM was equipped with an antenna, two wings, an extendable arm, a hologram projector, a grappling hook, and a photoreceptor used for recording its adventures. It was built to survive the cold temperatures of planets like Hoth while surviving on hot planets like Tatooine. While CAM was a droid, it enjoyed the work it did and often played with the creatures it encountered. Though, bigger and more hostile creatures often scared the droid away. CAM and SF-R3 successfully traveled to many planets and were able to report on the findings of many creatures and their ways of life.
