Darth Revan was turned to the darkside of the force by the sith emperor Emperor Vitiate. He later broke free of the emperor’s grasp and established his own empire along with his apprentice, Darth Malak. As a Sith Lord, Revan used the power of the star forge to create this empire. During the search to acquire the star forge’s power, Revan and Malak traveled to many planets such as Manaan and Korriban. Revan searched through tombs of ancient sith lords such as Tulak Hord and Naga Sadow. During his search for the star forge Revan even created his own sith holocron related to a sith masters relationship with his apprentice. This holocron would later be discovered by Darth Bane who would create the famous rule of two. Once Revan finally discovered the Star Forge he would have access to unimaginable power. With this power, Revan created an entire military, and many weapons. Revan desired to defeat the grand republic in war with his new army, and he wished to rule as many other sith lords intended. However, during this war, Revan’s ship was boarding during a battle. Bastila Shan and other jedi knights attempted to defeat Revan using Bastila’s battle meditation. During this attack on Revan, Malak saw an opportunity, and he fired upon Revan’s vessel. The Jedi took Revan alive from the destruction; they used the force to reforge his mind with a new identity, one loyal to the republic. Revan eventually defeated his old apprentice Malak. After this, Revan was later captured by sith emperor Vitiate. Vitiate tortured Revan until his mind split in two; one half of his mind as the light side of the force, and the other half as the dark side. Revan’s new Sith identity sought only one goal in life: kill Emperor Vitiate.

History/Background Body Paragraph:

Revan was born in the Outer Rim Territories around somewhere around the year 3994 BBY. Revan was, like many other children that were sensitive to the force, collected by the Jedi Order to start his jedi training. While training as a jedi, Revan learned from many different jedi masters, and he quickly befriended a fellow student named Alek. As a knight, Revan fought in the Mandalorian Wars, and he led the Revanchist movement. After Revan defeated the leader of Mandalore (Mandalore The Ultimate) he and his friend Alek (Malak) were led down a sith influenced path into the Unknown Regions of space. This is where they discovered a sith empire, and they were turned to the dark side by the sith emperor (Emperor Vitiate).

Revan eventually married Bastila Shan and had a child. This marriage caused Revan to become almost anonymous for a period of time. The Jedi's manipulation of him caused him to become distraught, and not fully connected to the force. He longed for answers and in doing so, was captured by the sith and held in prison for three years. He was rescued by a former Jedi Meetra Surik, and a sith lord Darth Scourge. These three attempted to defeat Emperor Vitiate but failed due to a betrayal from Darth Scourge. This led to Revan being captured and held for another three hundred years until his final rescue.
